arise! oh nation,
let the dawn lift you with its full strength --
a new day, a new beginning.
a candle glowing in the dark my be dim
but we can see the biggest star radiating from afar.
Blessing to you, who seek out for the light;
shame on you, who work
in the dark.
though the crooks may have uprooted the daisies
and drowned them to the deepest sea;
though the crooks became wild swimming
in their bloody
pool,
may it not terrorize our soul,
may it not tear our skin and sliver our bones.
the rain that showers our hills and prairies,
will surely soak our
parched land,
will rejuvenate
our battered mountains and
valleys;
and dawn will come and every dewdrop will gather
to nourish new
seeds, to nourish our souls;
a new life is born,
a new hope begins.
